Restructuring/Redevelopment
Restructuring as a measure of optimisation of company structures, processes and resources. Redevelopment as a measure of safeguarding short-term survivability and long-term competitiveness.
Situation and cause analysis:
- In which situation is the company and how will it develop in the near future if no measures to fight the crisis are taken? (e.g. current liquidity, lines of credit, short-term liabilities and accounts receivable and receipt of order, short-term sales opportunities through new products, markets or customers, remaining period of action.)
- What are the integral causes of the crisis? (e.g. in-house reasons, economy, new competitors, new products from competitors, cost explosions, deterioration in prices, quantity slumps, quality problems.)
Restructuring/Redevelopment Concept:
- Which temporary objectives have to be pursued? (e.g. ensure or increase liquidity, stretch liabilities, safeguard or collect accounts receivable, get rid of overindebtedness, remove organisational weaknesses, break down cost pools, introduce new products, acquire new customers.)
- Which immediate measures serve these objectives? (e.g. leasing instead of purchase, sale and lease back, factorisation, tightening dunning, quickening of invoicing, exploitation of payment periods, agreement of customer deposits, stock reduction, postponement of service and repair work, special sales promotions, freeze on recruitment, short-time work, dismissals, cut in voluntary social services, suspension of risky research projects, sale of properties and holdings.)
- With which strategic orientation, which products and in which markets will the company be active in future?
- Which mid- and long-term measures are important for this strategic orientation? (e.g. strategic new positioning, giving up of trading areas, concentration on core processes.)
- Special case: insolvency plan according to §§ 217 - 269 of the Insolvency Code
